NJHS Field Trip

Students will go to Rockwoods Reservation to experience the Maple Sugar Program.  Then, students will eat lunch at the West County Mall before returning to school.

Before the trip, students will visit the mdc.mo.gov website to learn more about maple sugaring and the traditional versus modern processes. During the trip, students will be collecting tree sap, boiling off water to keep sugar, tasting the maple syrup, and learning about how processing and boiling has changed over the years. After the trip, we will discuss what the students learned.
